Both"
If you haven’t done research in a large city such as New York City or
the District of Columbia, you may find it a little intimidating.
Discover what you need to know about researching in both large and small
locales, learn about guides for locating records in large cities, and
see examples of types of records you may find.
Sharon Hodges is a professional genealogist, teacher and lecturer, and
has been doing genealogical research for 20 years. Sharon is a grader
for the NGS Home Study Course and specializes in research in Northern
New Jersey, District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, the Northern Neck
of Virginia and parts of Maryland. She is a member of the Mount Vernon
Genealogical Society and the Fairfax Genealogical Society, having served
as an officer on both Boards. Sharon also holds membership in several
other genealogical societies.

This program describes the ever-expanding sources of millions of pages and images
of original documents and books now available at our fingertips. Learn how to locate
catalogs and content, and then how to download and save what you need.
Sandy Clunies has been certified by BCG since 1993 and currently serves
as President of the National Capital Area Chapter of APG and on the APG
Board of Directors. She specializes in colonial American research and is
active as the registrar in many lineage societies. Sandy has served on
the faculty of both the National Institute on Genealogical Research
(NIGR) and the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR) and
is a past-President of the NIGR Alumni Association. She is member of the
FGS/NGS Records Preservation and Access Committee, and has lectured
extensively at the local, regional, and national levels.
